Program Educational Objectives

The educational objectives of the Hydrogeological Engineering Program are defined as raising competent engineers who will pursue their post-graduation careers in public institutions and the private sector operating in various fields of Hydrogeological Engineering and Geological Engineering, as well as graduates who possess the qualifications and competence to conduct postgraduate studies.

Program Outcomes

The program outcomes determined by considering the educational objectives of our Hydrogeological Engineering undergraduate program and the minimum program outcomes required by MÜDEK are presented below:

  • PO-1: Gain adequate knowledge in mathematics, science, and engineering disciplines specific to the field, and apply theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas to solve complex engineering problems.
  • PO-2: Ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems based on scientific methods; select and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.
  • PO-3: Ability to design a complex system, process, device, or product under realistic constraints and conditions to meet specific requirements; apply modern design methods for this purpose.
  • PO-4: Ability to select and use modern techniques and tools necessary for analyzing and solving complex problems encountered in engineering applications; utilize information technologies effectively.
  • PO-5: Ability to design experiments, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze, and interpret results to investigate complex engineering problems or discipline-specific research topics.
  • PO-6: Ability to work effectively in intra-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary teams, as well as the ability to work individually.
  • PO-7: Effective oral and written communication skills; proficiency in at least one foreign language, effective report writing and understanding written reports, preparing design and production reports, making effective presentations, giving and receiving clear instructions.
  • PO-8: Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; ability to access information, follow developments in science and technology, and continuously self-renew.
  • PO-9: Knowledge of acting in accordance with ethical principles, professional and ethical responsibility, and standards used in engineering applications.
  • PO-10: Knowledge of business practices such as project management, risk management, and change management; awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation; knowledge of sustainable development.
  • PO-11: Knowledge of the universal and social impacts of engineering applications on health, environment, and safety, as well as contemporary issues reflected in the field of engineering; awareness of legal consequences of engineering solutions.
